God is faithful (2)

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“God is faithful…” 1 Corinthians 1v9 (KJV)
“God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on)…” 1 Corinthians 1v9 (AMP)
“God will do this, for He is faithful to do what He says,…” 1 Corinthians 1v9 (NLT)

Our God is faithful, love, dependable, and can be trusted. He is unchanging. Yes, sometimes we go through tough times, but we know that “Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.” (Romans 8v37, AMP). One question we should ask ourselves though is “Am I faithful to God?” Solomon started off well, but at a point his affections were turned away from God. 1 Kings 11v1-4 (NLT) says “Now King Solomon loved many foreign women. Besides Pharaoh’s daughter, he married women from Moab, Ammon, Edom, Sidon, and from among the Hittites. The LORD had clearly instructed the people of Israel, ‘You must not marry them, because they will turn your hearts to their gods.’ Yet Solomon insisted on loving them anyway. He had 700 wives of royal birth and 300 concubines. And in fact, they did turn his heart away from the LORD. In Solomon’s old age, they turned his heart to worship other gods instead of being completely faithful to the LORD his God, as his father, David, had been.” Are you insisting on doing things that God has said you should not do? Have you begun to esteem certain things (husband, wife, father, mother, children, ministry, pastor, brother, sister, position, job, school, friends, money, idols, clothes, games, music, some besetting sin, an addiction…) higher than God, little by little allowing them to steal your affections away from God?

Supplementary Text
“Solomon answered, “You have shown great kindness to Your servant, my father David, because he was faithful to You and righteous and upright in heart. You have continued this great kindness to him and have given him a son to sit on his throne this very day.” 1 Kings 3v6 (NIV)

Prayer: Take a moment to search your heart, and ask the Lord to point out areas you have let it stray away from Him. Repent, and ask Him for grace to stay totally faithful to Him.
