Spiritual Endowment
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“That
you are not [consciously] falling behind or lacking in any special spiritual
endowment or Christian grace [the reception of which is due to the power of
divine grace operating in your souls by the Holy Spirit],” 1 Corinthians 1v7
(AMP)
“Now
you have every spiritual gift you need…” 1 Corinthians 1v7 (NLT)
“Just
think – you don’t need a thing, you’ve got it all! All God’s gifts are right in
front of you …” 1 Corinthians 1v7 (MSG)
Paul
continues his letter to the Corinthians, acknowledging the testimony of Christ
that is being formed in them (1 Corinthians 1v6), and goes on to say, they are
not falling behind or lacking in any spiritual gifts, or endowments, as they
wait for Christ to come. Amen. There is a power at work in the life of
believers that gives us this spiritual grace, and “everything we need for
living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the
One who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence.”
(2 Peter 1v3, NLT). In Ephesians 3v20 (MSG), after Paul had written of his
prayers for the church at Ephesus (which I encourage everyone to pray, see from
verse 15), he writes “God can do anything, you know – far more than you could
ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing
us around but by working within us, His Spirit deeply and gently within us.”
Amen. So beloved, you have every spiritual gift you require and everything to
live a godly life, through the working of the Holy Spirit in you, because you
have come to believe in and accept Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour. “Glory
to God in the church! Glory to God in the Messiah, in Jesus! Glory down all the
generations! Glory through all millennia! Oh, yes!” Ephesians 3v21 (MSG)
Supplementary Text
“For
His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and
suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him
Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue).” 2 Peter 1v3
(AMP)
Prayer
Father,
we thank You for this day and for Your power at work in us, in Jesus name,
amen.
