No divisions

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.” 1 Corinthians 1v10 (NIV)

Have you ever been in an atmosphere, whether in church, or among friends, at work, or just been a witness to a situation where there was division, disunity, disagreement and discord? Perhaps everybody wanted to be right and have their own views aired. Probably not pleasant! In the above passage, Paul encourages the church in Corinth to be in agreement in things they say, that they should not have divisions among themselves and be perfectly united in mind and thought. In Philippians 2v2 (NLT), the Bible says “Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.” 2 Corinthians 13v11 (AMP) also says “Finally, brethren, farewell (rejoice)! Be strengthened (perfected, completed, made what you ought to be); be encouraged and consoled and comforted; be of the same [agreeable] mind one with another; live in peace, and [then] the God of love [Who is the Source of affection, goodwill, love, and benevolence toward men] and the Author and Promoter of peace will be with you.” Beloved, let us live in peace with one another. Let us have the same mind and purpose. Let us accept one another as Christ has accepted us. Let us seek God’s glory in all that we do, and may God help us in Jesus name, amen. Are you in disagreement with a brethren, why don’t you make it up today?

Supplementary Text
“May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus. Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.” Romans 15v5-7 (NLT)

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word. We pray that You will help we Your church to live in complete harmony with one another. Help us be of one mind, and to accept each other just as Christ accepted us, so that Your name will be glorified. Please break down the walls of division in the Church. All this we ask in Jesus name, amen.
