God’s Gift to us in us
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Do
you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy
Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You
are not your own,” 1 Corinthians 6v19 (AMP)
“Don’t
you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you
and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself,” 1 Corinthians 6v19
(NLT)
Many
of us have at one time or the other given a gift to someone. Sometimes that
gift was costly for us to purchase or make or present for one reason or the
other at the time we gave it away. One Gift, a very precious Gift that God has
given us as believers is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit dwells with us and is
in us (John 14v17). One important function of our bodies now is that it is the
temple where Holy Spirit lives. How are you treating this temple? Are we
sinning and defiling it? Are we taking care of it? Are we yielding it to the
Spirit of God so that He has His way in our lives? The Bible tells us:
Supplementary Text
“Do
not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin.
Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have
new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the
glory of God. Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the
requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.
Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we
can go on sinning? Of course not! Don’t you realize that you become the slave
of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to
death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living. Thank
God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching
we have given you. Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have
become slaves to righteous living.” Romans 6v13-18 (NLT)
Prayer
Our
heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word and for our bodies being the temple
of the Holy Spirit. We give ourselves fully to You, and give every member of
our bodies as instruments for righteousness to the glory of Your name, in Jesus
name, amen.
