The Lord’s body

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for a new work week and that we are still alive to work. And for those believing God for work, we know that HE is faithful and will come through for you in a miraculous way. Hold on to your confession of faith.

Primary Text
“Food [is intended] for the stomach and the stomach for food, but God will finally end [the functions of] both and bring them to nothing. The body is not intended for sexual immorality but [is intended] for the Lord, and the Lord [is intended] for the body [to save, sanctify, and raise it again].” 1 Corinthians 6v13 (AMP)

Have you ever considered what your body is really for from the eyes of the Lord? It is always good to know the proper function of a thing – an object, a word of advice, our lives e.t.c. so that there is no misuse, underuse or spoilage of the thing, the word, and our lives. The verse above tells us that the body is intended for the Lord and the Lord for the body to save, sanctify, and raise it again, amen. Although there is food made for the stomach, and stomach is for food, but at the end of the day, they both will be destroyed. One thing the body is definitely not for is sexual immorality. Our bodies are also the temple of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God dwells on the inside of us (1 Corinthians 6v19). We can imagine various things that the Lord intends for us to do through the body – serve Him, love Him, love others, be a vessel of good works which He before ordained that we work in. And in return, He in turn cares for our body (even the very hairs on our head He numbers, He provides food for us in season), and He intends to save, sanctify and raise it again. Hallelujah!

Supplementary Text
“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6v20 (KJV)
