Marital duties
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God
for His goodness, faithfulness, lovingkindness, and tendermercies. Today’s
encouragement is a reminder for those who are married about certain things
concerning marriage and for those seeking the Lord for their life partner’s to
know what the Word says about this important part of holy matrimony.
Primary Text
“The
husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights (goodwill, kindness, and
what is due her as his wife), and likewise the wife to her husband. For the
wife does not have [exclusive] authority and control over her own body, but the
husband [has his rights]; likewise also the husband does not have [exclusive]
authority and control over his body, but the wife [has her rights]. Do not
refuse and deprive and defraud each other [of your due marital rights], except
perhaps by mutual consent for a time, so that you may devote yourselves
unhindered to prayer. But afterwards resume marital relations, lest Satan tempt
you [to sin] through your lack of restraint of sexual desire.” 1 Corinthians
7v3-5 (AMP)
“The
husband should fulfill his wife’s sexual needs, and the wife should fulfill her
husband’s needs. The wife gives authority over her body to her husband, and the
husband gives authority over his body to his wife. Do not deprive each other of
sexual relations, unless you both agree to refrain from sexual intimacy for a
limited time so you can give yourselves more completely to prayer. Afterward,
you should come together again so that Satan won’t be able to tempt you because
of your lack of self-control.” 1 Corinthians 7v3-5 (NLT)
Supplementary Text
“In
the same way you married men should live considerately with [your wives], with
an intelligent recognition [of the marriage relation], honoring the woman as
[physically] the weaker, but [realizing that you] are joint heirs of the grace (God’s
unmerited favor) of life, in order that your prayers may not be hindered and
cut off. [Otherwise you cannot pray effectively.]” 1 Peter 3v7 (AMP)
Prayer

You are good to us. We pray that You will bless marriages o God, let love and
faithfulness abound in them, and we pray that You will divinely connect those
who are waiting on You for marriage with their life partners in Jesus name,
amen.
