United with Christ

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for another day that He has made that we can rejoice and be glad in it. Glory be to His holy name.

Primary Text
"But the person who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him." 1 Corinthians 6v17 (AMP)

"But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him." 1 Corinthians 6v17 (NLT)

Hallelujah. The idea of being one in spirit with the Lord, or in union with Him means "consecration to the same end - one in mind, purpose, and life, not bodily entrance into. It may be best understood by a man and woman becoming one in life together, to be in each other's plans, life, e.t.c." (Dakes reference Bible). The same way we are one in Christ in spirit, we see another incidence where it is said of Judas that "Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot being of the number of the twelve. And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captain, how he might betray him unto them. And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money. And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude." (Luke 22v3-6, KJV). In this case, it is not that Satan entered bodily into Judas, but like he being in his heart, and being consecrated to his plans. Albeit, thank God that we are united to the Lord and become one spirit with Him. Our lives begin to align and conform to the mind, purpose, and desires of God. Galatians 2v20 (NLT) says "My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." Thank God for Christ in us, the hope of glory (Colossians 1v27).

Supplementary Text
"But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to Him at all.) And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God. The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, He will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you." Romans 8v9-11 (NLT).

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You so much for Your Word this day and we give You all the glory because we are united with Christ in the Spirit. Thank You because we are in Christ and Christ is in God. Blessed be Your holy name forevermore in Jesus name, amen.
