Don’t be deceived

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for the salvation of our souls and how we have been sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise. Amen.

Primary Text
“Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality,” 1 Corinthians 6v9 (AMP)

“Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, … - none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. ” 1 Corinthians 6v9-10 (NLT)

No matter how much people try to play it down, we will all still stand before the judgment seat of Christ (Romans 14v10), “so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad” (2 Corinthians 5v10, NIV). The Bible says “Shall we continue in sin that grace will abound – God forbid” (Romans 6v1-2). Paul is saying, do not be deceived. To deceive could mean “to mislead by deliberate misrepresentation or lies; to delude (oneself)… falsely persuade others.” (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/deceive?s=t). You know your own heart can deceive you, presenting you with lies and false representations? Proverbs 28v26 (AMP) says “He who leans on, trusts in, and is confident of his own mind and heart is a [self-confident] fool, but he who walks in skillful and godly Wisdom shall be delivered.” Another place where deceived is used is in Galatians 6v7, verses 7&8 (NIV) say “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” So what do we do? Well, we walk in the light of the Word of God, - “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves” (James 1v22). In 1 Corinthians 9v26-27 (NIV), Paul says “Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.” Put your body under – yield to the Holy Spirit. And present your body as a living sacrifice to God as we see in Romans 12v1-2.

Supplementary Text
“I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].” Romans 12v1-2 (AMP)

Prayer
Father, I thank You for Your Word, and Your love. Father I pray that in anyway I am deceiving myself, please shed your light on it, and grant me the grace to change and walk in the light of Your Word in Jesus name, amen.
