Known of God (2)

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“But if any one loves God truly [with affectionate reverence, prompt obedience, and grateful recognition of His blessing], he is known by God [recognized as worthy of His intimacy and love, and he is owned by Him].” 1 Corinthians 8v3 (AMP)

One way that we demonstrate our love for God is by being obedient to Him. The Amplified version calls it prompt obedience. Our Lord Jesus put it simply in this way “Ye are My friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you” (John 15v14, KJV) and “If ye love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14v15, KJV). Do you love God? How are you demonstrating it? Are you known of God? To be called a friend means you are known of the person. David was someone who loved the commandments and laws of God. Psalm 119v167 (AMP) says “Your testimonies have I kept [hearing, receiving, loving, and obeying them]; I love them exceedingly!” The Lord reveals Himself to the person who loves Him as evidenced by keeping His commandments. “The person who has My commands and keeps them is the one who [really] loves Me; and whoever [really] loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I [too] will love him and will show (reveal, manifest) Myself to him. [I will let Myself be clearly seen by him and make Myself real to him]” John 14v21 (AMP). Are you known of God beloved? Are you doing His will?

Supplementary Text
“Judas, not Iscariot, asked Him, Lord, how is it that You will reveal Yourself [make Yourself real] to us and not to the world? Jesus answered, If a person [really] loves Me, he will keep My word [obey My teaching]; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home (abode, special dwelling place) with him. Anyone who does not [really] love Me does not observe and obey My teaching. And the teaching which you hear and heed is not Mine, but [comes] from the Father Who sent Me.” John 14v22-24 (AMP)

Prayer
Our Father in heaven, we thank You for Your Word and for Your love for us. We pray for the grace to do all of Your will, all of the time, to obey You promptly, and walk in Your ways as an evidence of our love for You in Jesus name, amen.
