Be not deceived (2)

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text

“Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality, ” 1 Corinthians 6v9 (AMP)

Man is a spirit, he has a soul and lives in a body. The soul is made up of the mind, the emotions and the will. When we become born again, we become new creatures in Christ, our spirits are renewed, however, through the power of the Holy Spirit, we begin to build our spirit man, growing in the spirit and conforming our soul to what would please the Lord. Our mind is renewed through the Word of God. The investments you make spiritually, would reflect the sort of Christian you would be, and that is why you would see some Christians who have been born again for a long time, and yet have no fruit to show for it. They live lives similar to those who do not have a relationship with God. What investments are you making to change? You hear the Word, you have the Spirit of God, what are you doing about it. John 15 is clear about abiding in the Lord because apart from Him we can do nothing.

“No one who abides in Him [who lives and remains in communion with and in obedience to Him – deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] commits (practices) sin. No one who [habitually] sins has either seen or known Him [recognized, perceived, or understood Him, or has had an experiential acquaintance with Him]. Boys (lads), let no one deceive and lead you astray. He who practices righteousness (who is upright, conforming to the divine will in purpose, thought, and action, living a consistently conscientious life] is righteous, even as He is righteous. [But] he who commits sin [who practices evildoing] is of the devil [takes his character from the evil one], for the devil has sinned (violated the divine law) from the beginning. The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil [has done]. No one born (begotten) of God [deliberately, knowingly and habitually] practices sin, for God’s nature abides in Him [His principle of life, the divine sperm, remains permanently within him]; and he cannot practice sinning because he is born (begotten) of God.” 1 John 3v6-9 (AMP)

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word and for making us partakers of Your divine nature. Thank You because You have given us the power to become the sons of God. We pray that we will continually walk in the light of Your Word and have fellowship with You and continually be renewed in our minds as we know You more in Jesus name, amen.
