Flee sexual sin!
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Do
you not see and know that your bodies are members (bodily parts) of Christ (the
Messiah)? Am I therefore to take the parts of Christ and make [them] parts of a
prostitute? Never! Never! Or do you not know and realize that when a man joins
himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? The two, it is written,
shall become one flesh.” 1 Corinthians 6v15-16 (AMP)
“Don’t
you realize that your bodies are actually parts of Christ? Should a man take
his body, which is part of Christ, and join it to a prostitute? Never! And
don’t you realize that if a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one
body with her? For the Scriptures say, “The two are united into one.”” 1
Corinthians 6v15-16 (NLT)
God
is very concerned about our bodies and what we do with them, because, our
bodies are the temple of the Spirit of God. God lives on the inside of every
believer. So what we do with our bodies are important. The Bible then asks here
that shall we take our bodies and join them to a prostitute? You become one
with the person you are joined with. Indeed the Bible tells us in Genesis 2v24
(NIV) “That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his
wife, and they become one flesh.” Beloved, if you are engaged in any form of
sexual immorality, please stop it. Remember 1 Corinthians 6v9 tells us that we
should not be deceived, wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God, and as
well as those who engage in sexual immorality.
Supplementary Text
“Food
[is intended] for the stomach and the stomach for food, but God will finally
end [the functions of] both and bring them to nothing. The body is not intended
for sexual immorality, but [is intended] for the Lord, and the Lord [is
intended] for the body [to save, sanctify, and raise it again].” 1 Corinthians
6v13 (AMP)
Prayer
Father,
we thank You for Your Word and Your mercies towards us. Father, in anyway we
have engaged in any act that has defiled our bodies, have mercy and cleanse us
O Lord. Wash us clean in the blood of Jesus. We dedicate our bodies unto You O
Lord. May we glorify You with them in Jesus name, amen.
