Holy Communion
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God
for His goodness, faithfulness, lovingkindness and tendermercies.
Primary Text
“The
cup of blessing [of wine at the Lord’s Supper] upon which we ask [God’s]
blessing, does it not mean [that in drinking it] we participate in and share a
fellowship (a communion) in the blood of Christ (the Messiah)? The bread which
we break, does it not mean [that in eating it] we participate in and share a
fellowship (a communion) in the body of Christ? For we [no matter how] numerous
we are, are one body, because we all partake of the one Bread [the One Whom the
communion bread represents].” 1 Corinthians 10v16-17 (AMP)
One
of the practices of the Christian faith is to partake in the Holy Communion,
which signifies the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus
Himself showed an example of the partaking of this meal before He died. Matthew
26v26-28 (NIV) saying “While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when He
had given thanks, He broke it and gave it to His disciples, saying, “Take and
eat; this is My body.” Then He took a cup, and when He had given thanks, He
gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is My blood of the
covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” We thank
God for the fellowship and ability of being able to be partakers of the body
and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Supplementary Text
“For
I received from the Lord Himself that which I passed on to you [it was given to
me personally], that the Lord Jesus on the night when He was treacherously
delivered up and while His betrayal was in progress took bread, And when He had
given thanks, He broke [it] and said, Take, eat. This is My body, which is
broken for you. Do this to call Me [affectionately] to remembrance. For every
time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are representing and signifying
and proclaiming the fact of the Lord’s death until He comes [again].” 1
Corinthians 11v23-26 (AMP)
Prayer
Our

resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You Lord Jesus for dying for us on
the Cross of Calvary. Thank You for the body and blood of Jesus of which we are
