Quit murmuring and complaining

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“And don’t grumble as some of them did, and then were destroyed by the angel of death.” 1 Corinthians 10v10 (NLT)

“Nor discontentedly complain as some of them did – and were put out of the way entirely by the destroyer (death).” 1 Corinthians 10v10 (AMP)

Another thing that we are warned against doing as seen in the life of the Israelites when they came out of Egypt (Exodus 15v24, Exodus 17v3, Numbers 14v2), was not to grumble or complain. It is a big deal for God! For example Deuteronomy 1v27 says “And ye murmured in your tents, and said, Because the LORD hated us, He hath brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites to destroy us.” Is this true? Of course not. But sometimes when we murmur and complain, we tend to speak untruths because of the depth of our frustrations. For the Israelites Exodus 3v7-10 (AMP) relates more of the truth: “And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters and oppressors; for I know their sorrows and sufferings and trials. And I have come down to deliver them out of the hand and power of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a land good and large, a land flowing with milk and honey [a land of plenty] – to the place of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite. Now behold, the cry of the Israelites has come to Me, and I have also seen how the Egyptians oppress them. Come now therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh, that you may bring forth My people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.” Beloved, think of where God has brought you from, and where you are now. Hasn’t He been good, faithful and true? Certainly, there is a journey we go on and the good fight of faith we are engaged in, but He has assured us of victory. God doesn’t like when we complain, grumble, or murmur. Imagine if you had a child who you wanted to do something for, and all the child ever did was complain and wear a long face, perhaps said a thank you when something materialized physically, but beyond that, he or she just looks at you with the attitude of perform, impress me. Not good enough is it?

Supplementary Text
“Do all things without grumbling and faultfinding and complaining [against God] and questioning and doubting [among yourselves], That you may show yourselves to be blameless and guileless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish (faultless, unrebukable) in the midst of a crooked and wicked generation [spiritually perverted and perverse], among whom you are seen as bright lights (stars or beacons shining out clearly) in the [dark] world,” Philippians 2v14-15 (AMP)

Prayer
Our Father in heaven, we thank You for today. Father, please forgive me for murmuring, complaining, impatience and just being ungrateful. I pray for the grace to thank You and bless You always in Jesus name, amen.
