A Warning

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His goodness, mercies, faithfulness, Word and His Spirit. The Bible tells us with reference to the Israelites after they had left Egypt:

Primary Text
“Yet God was not pleased with most of them, and their bodies were scattered in the wilderness. These things happened as a warning to us, so that we would not crave evil things as they did, or worship idols as some of them did. As the Scriptures say, “The people celebrated with feasting and drinking, and they indulged in pagan revelry.” And we must not engage in sexual immorality as some of them did, causing 23,000 of them to die in one day. Nor should we put Christ to the test, as some of them did and then died from snakebites. And don’t grumble as some of them did, and then were destroyed by the angel of death. These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age.” 1 Corinthians 10v5-11 (NLT)

One reason we read the Word of God is to know what God likes and dislikes, to be led in the way of righteousness even as 2 Timothy 3v16-17 (AMP) saying “Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action), So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.” From the experience of the Israelites for example, as seen in the verses above, we see certain things that God does not like. These include craving after evil things, worshipping idols, sexual immorality, testing Christ, and grumbling. Have you noticed any of these things in your life? It is time to repent of them and change them quickly.

Supplementary Text
“But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth]. For if anyone only listens to the Word without obeying it and being a doer of it, he is like a man who looks carefully at his [own] natural face in a mirror; For he thoughtfully observes himself, and then goes off and promptly forgets what he was like. But he who looks carefully into the faultless law, the [law] of liberty, and is faithful to it and perseveres in looking into it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he shall be blessed in his doing (his life of obedience).” James 1v22-25 (AMP)

Prayer
Father God, I thank You for Your Word. Please search me and know my heart, try me, and know my thoughts, and point out if there is anything in me that offends You, and lead me along the path of everlasting life in Jesus name, amen.
