The Spirit and the Gifts
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God
for the love He has for us, loving us with such an amazing and incredible love.
Primary Text
“Now
there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 12v4 (KJV)
“Now
there are distinctive varieties and distributions of endowments (gifts,
extraordinary powers distinguishing certain Christians, due to the power of
divine grace operating in their souls by the Holy Spirit) and they vary, but
the [Holy] Spirit remains the same.” 1 Corinthians 12v4 (AMP)
“Now
God gives us many kinds of special abilities, but it is the same Holy Spirit
who is the source of them all.” 1 Corinthians 12v4 (TLB)
I
am excited about the fact that God gives spiritual gifts, and special abilities
to His people by the Holy Spirit. Paul had mentioned to the church in Corinth
that he does not want them to be ignorant about these gifts, and we shouldn’t
as well. Two main points to raise then from the above verse are – 1. There are
different types of gifts for example the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge,
faith, gifts of healing and so on. 2. The source of all these gifts is the
Spirit of God. Hallelujah. 1 Corinthians 12v7 (NLT) tells us that “A spiritual
gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.” Have you recognized and
identified a gift, a special grace that distinguishes you from other believers?
Rejoice. But remember, that gift is given you by the Spirit of God, and it is
given you so you can help others.
Supplementary Text
“John
answered, A man can receive nothing [he can claim nothing, he can take unto
himself nothing] except as it has been granted to him from heaven. [A man must
be content to receive the gift which is given him from heaven; there is no
other source.]” John 3v27 (AMP)
Prayer
Father
God, we thank You so much for the gifts You have made available to the church
through Your Spirit for the profiting of all. We thank You for this and
acknowledge You as the source of all spiritual gifts and blessings. Thank You o
God, may we never bury or misuse any of the giftings You give to us in Jesus
name, amen.
