Purposed to serve You

Hello everyone,

How are you doing? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His goodness, faithfulness, loving kindness and grace.

Primary Text

“I am speaking as to intelligent (sensible) men. Think over and make up your minds [for yourselves] about what I say. [I appeal to your reason and your discernment in these matters.]” 1 Corinthians 10v15 (AMP)

Paul haven spoken to the Corinthians on various issues, tells them, he believes he has been speaking to sensible men, and that they should think over what he has been saying to them. We thank God for His Word, His Spirit, the things that we see around us that He has created, the encouragement we have received and so on. We thank Him for giving us the desire and will, as well as the strength to please Him (Philippians 2v13), but as believers we still need to make up our minds to serve the Lord. Joshua for example spoke to the children of Israel saying “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:” (Deuteronomy 30v19, KJV). Of Daniel, it was said:

“But Daniel was determined not to defile himself by eating the food and wine given to them by the king. He asked the chief of staff for permission not to eat these unacceptable foods.” Daniel 1v8 (NLT)

Prayer

Father, we thank You so much for Your goodness and faithfulness. We thank You for Your Word. We pray O Lord that You would teach us Your decrees, and we will keep them to the end. Please give us understanding and we will obey Your instructions, and put them into practice with all our hearts. Make us to walk along the path of Your commands for that is where our happiness is found. This we pray in Jesus name, amen.
