The Lord and the Service
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“And
there are distinctive varieties of service and ministration, but it is the same
Lord [Who is served].” 1 Corinthians 12v5 (AMP)
“There
are different kinds of service to God, but it is the same Lord we are serving.”
1 Corinthians 12v5 (NLT)
Just
as the Holy Spirit gives different spiritual gifts to the body of Christ for
the profiting of all, so also are there different services which we render to
God, but all of this is to the same Lord. Hallelujah. Just as owner of a business
might have different workers for example the accountants, sales personnel,
marketing personnel, information technology people and so on, at the end of the
day, each of the people are in reality working for the same owner and in line
with his goals and visions. As believers, we should remember that we are
serving the same Lord. To this end, whatever we do, we should remember to do it
as unto the Lord, and not unto man; don’t be in competition with or envious
about your brothers and sisters, but with diligence and in unity serve the Lord
God.
Supplementary Text
“Who
am I, and who is Apollos, that we should be the cause of a quarrel? Why, we’re
just God’s servants, each of us with certain special abilities, and with our
help you believed. My work was to plant the seed in your hearts, and Apollos’
work was to water it, but it was God, not we, who made the garden grow in your
hearts. The person who does the planting or watering isn’t very important, but
God is important because He is the one who makes things grow. Apollos and I are
working as a team, with the same aim, though each of us will be rewarded for
his own hard work. We are only God’s coworkers. You are God’s garden, not ours;
you are God’s building, not ours.” 1 Corinthians 1v5-9 (NLT)
Prayer
Father,
we thank You for Your Word. We thank You that we serve the same Lord. May we
realize every work that You have given each of us to do, and do it to the best
of our abilities and to the glory of Your name in Jesus name, amen.
