A way out!
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“For
no temptation (no trial regarded as enticing to sin), [no matter how it comes
or where it leads] has overtaken you and laid hold on you that is not common to
man [that is, no temptation or trial has come to you that is beyond human
resistance and that is not adjusted and adapted and belonging to human
experience, and such as man can bear]. But God is faithful [to His Word and to
His compassionate nature], and He [can be trusted] not to let you be tempted
and tried and assayed beyond your ability and strength of resistance and power
to endure, but with the temptation He will [always] also provide the way out
(the means of escape to a landing place), that you may be capable and strong
and powerful to bear up under it patiently.” 1 Corinthians 10v13 (AMP)
Another
word of encouragement that comes from this verse is that God will not allow you
to be tempted or tried beyond what we can bear, or stand. 1 Peter 2v9 (KJV)
says “The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to
reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:” Praise the Lord.
While we do face temptations, He won’t allow it to go beyond what we can bear,
and He will make a way of escape from it. Hallelujah! I don’t know if you can
think of certain situations in your life where this just rings so true. Indeed,
God has always seen us through. And so with each temptation and trial, we have
the confident assurance that God has our backs, He is in control and He will
see us through. Isaiah 43v2 (NLT) says “When you go through deep waters, I will
be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When
you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames
will not consume you.” Amen. Indeed, James 1v2-4 (AMP) encourages us to:
Supplementary Text
“Consider
it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter
trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. Be assured and understand
that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness
and patience. But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play
and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully
developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.” James 1v2-4 (AMP)
Prayer
Our
Father in heaven, we glorify You, we bless Your holy name. We thank You for
Your Word this day which shows us Your faithfulness in seeing us through each
trial and temptation. Blessed be Your holy name. We pray that in each of these
instances, we may be sensitive to know and take the way of escape that You
create, that Your grace will be sufficient for all our weaknesses and that we
will indeed grow in patience, endurance and steadfastness to the glory of Your
name in Jesus name, amen.
