Purity

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin.” 1 Thessalonians 4v3 (NLT)

“For this is the will of God, that you should be consecrated (separated and set apart for pure and holy living): that you should abstain and shrink from all sexual vice,” 1 Thessalonians 4v3 (AMP)

Beloved, one of the things God is very clear about in Scripture is sexual purity. His will is for us to abstain from all forms of sexual vice – fornication, adultery and so on. And He gives us the power to do so. We are told that every sin is outside of the body but this one is against the body. I once used the illustration that most people, not all, would not willingly sin at “church” i.e. in the physical building. Some might even joke for example that, ah, we are in church and you are lying. But the fact is that as a body and individual believers we are the temple of God. God’s Spirit lives in the inside of us and He is a “Holy” Spirit.

Supplementary Text
“Do you not see and know that your bodies are members (bodily parts) of Christ (the Messiah)? Am I therefore to take the parts of Christ and make [them] parts of a prostitute? Never! Never! Or do you now know and realize that when a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? The two, it is written, shall become one flesh. But the person who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him. Shun immorality and all sexual looseness [flee from impurity in thought, word, or deed]. And other sin which a man commits is one outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own, You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body.” 1 Corinthians 6v15-20 (AMP)

Prayer
If you have not been glorifying God with your body, why don’t you go ahead and repent and ask for His forgiveness. Let’s also pray for God to cleanse our spirits, souls, bodies, thoughts, words and deeds and fill us afresh with His Spirit.
