Satan’s hindrance

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“But, brothers and sisters, when we were orphaned by being separated from you for a short time (in person, not in thought), out of our intense longing we made every effort to see you. For we wanted to come to you – certainly I, Paul did, again and again – but Satan blocked our way.” 1 Thessalonians 2v17-18 (NIV)

Sometimes, the enemy places road blocks in our path, as we see in the text above. 1 Corinthians 16v9 (KJV) says “For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.” We also see a very clear example of this in Daniel 10 where we see that Daniel had been in mourning and without eating certain foods and drinking wine for about 3 weeks, but he had not received an answer to his prayers. Then he sees a vision where a man came to him saying “… “O Daniel, greatly beloved of God,” he said, “stand up and listen carefully to what I have to say, for God has sent me to you.” So I stood up, still trembling with fear. Then he said, “Don’t be frightened, Daniel, for your request has been heard in heaven and was answered the very first day you began to fast before the Lord and pray for understanding; that very day I was sent here to meet you. But for twenty-one days the mighty Evil Spirit who overrules the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the top officers of the heavenly army, came to help me, so that I was able to break through these spirit rulers of Persia. Now I am here to tell you what will happen to your people, the Jews, at the end times – for the fulfilment of this prophecy is many years away.” In this situation, we see how the answer to Daniel’s prayer was obstructed by the evil prince of Persia; but we thank God for the victory that we are always assured of in Him.

Supplementary Text
“Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour. Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset – rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same (identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world.” 1 Peter 5v8-9 (AMP)

Prayer
Father, we thank You for the victory we have in You. We submit ourselves under Your mighty hand, and devil we resist you in every area of our lives, and believe that you flee in Jesus name, amen.
