Strength in Him

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“But, brothers and sisters, when we were orphaned by being separated from you for a short time (in person, not in thought), out of our intense longing we made every effort to see you. For we wanted to come to you – certainly I, Paul did, again and again – but Satan blocked our way.” 1 Thessalonians 2v17-18 (NIV)

As believers how then do we fight in the face of adversity? What do we do? What weapons are available to us to fight this fight as Kingdom soldiers? Ephesians 6v12 (AMP) tells us that “For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.” One advise we are given as believers is to “… be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.”  (Ephesians 6v10, KJV). The Amplified version says “In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].” Our own strength is limited, and in the face of the enemies that we face is nothing. But from Him, we can draw great strength. One way in which we do this is by waiting on Him. Isaiah 40v28-31 (KJV) says “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of His understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Amen. Some faint in the day of trouble, but we can draw our strength from Him, for indeed without Him we can do nothing (John 15v5).

Supplementary Text
“I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].” Philippians 4v13 (AMP)

Prayer
Father, I thank You for the strength we have in the Lord. I pray from 1 Corinthians 12v9 that in my weakness, trials, and shortcomings that the “… strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me” in Jesus name, amen.
