The Word of God
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“And
we also [especially] thank God continually for this, that when you received the
message of God [which you heard] from us, you welcomed it not as the word of
[mere] men, but as it truly is, the Word of God, which is effectually at work
in you who believe [exercising its superhuman power in those who adhere to and
trust in and rely on it].” 1 Thessalonians 2v13 (AMP)
Beloved,
what is your attitude towards the Word of God. From the late Pastor Hagin, I
picked the phrase, “the Bible is God speaking to me.” The Bible is one way in
which God speaks to us. The Word of God is the second Person in the Trinity, it
is Jesus. John 1v1-3 (AMP) says “In the beginning [before all time] was the
Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. He was
present originally with God. All things were made and came into existence
through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into
being.“ The Word of God is therefore God Himself. That is why Hebrews 4v12
(AMP) tells us “For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making
it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any
two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul)
and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrows [of the deepest parts of
our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts
and purposes of the heart.“ Our Lord Jesus said “the words that I speak to You
they are Spirit and they are life.” O the Word of God is powerful, it is called
the Sword of the Spirit and it is a weapon against the enemy. That is why Jesus
combated the devil’s temptations by saying “It is written.” O beloved, let us
fill ourselves with the Word of God. Let us fill ourselves with this Spirit and
life giving words. The Word of God keeps you from sinning against God, because
You know what He likes and doesn’t. “How can a young man stay pure? By reading
your Word and following its rules … I have thought much about Your words and
stored them in my heart so that they would hold me back from sin.” (Psalm
119v9&11, TLB). The Word thus instructs and directs us.
Supplementary Text
“Your
words are a flashlight to light the path ahead of me and keep me from stumbling.”
Psalm 119v105 (TLB).
