Peaceful living

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text

“… And be at peace among yourselves.” 1 Thessalonians 5v13 (KJV)

“… And remember, no quarreling among yourselves.” 1 Thessalonians 5v13 (TLB)

One of the things that we are told quite clearly is to seek and pursue peace. “ “ Even among believers, we are told to do the same. Oh, there might be great opportunities that present themselves for fighting and strife and malice, but that should not be named among us. Colossians 3v10-11 (AMP) says “For let him who wants to enjoy life and see good days [good – whether apparent or not] keep his tongue free from evil and his lips from guile (treachery, deceit). Let him turn away from wickedness and shun it, and let him do right. Let him search for peace (harmony; undisturbedness from fears, agitating passions, and moral conflicts) and seek it eagerly. [Do not merely desire peaceful relations with God, with your fellowmen, and with yourself, but pursue, go after them!]”  Indeed, we should walk in love towards each other, more and more, as love covers the multitude of sin. 1 Peter 3v8-9 (NIV) saying “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.” For example, be willing to believe the best of others, to be kind and patient with them, to not be easily offended with them. Give them the benefit of the doubt.

Prayer

Father I thank You for Your Word. We pray for every relationship which has been wrought with strife. We pray Prince of peace that You will bring peace to the situation in Jesus name. Please help us to live in peace with all men and also to live holy in Jesus name we pray, amen.
