Fear Not!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“... comfort the feebleminded, …” 1 Thessalonians 5v14 (KJV)
“… encourage the disheartened, …” 1 Thessalonians 5v14 (NIV)
“… comfort those who are frightened, …” 1 Thessalonians 5v14 (TLB)
“… encourage the timid and fainthearted, …” 1 Thessalonians 5v14 (AMP)
“… Gently encourage the stragglers,…” 1 Thessalonians 5v14 (MSG)

There are times in our Christian walk when we might feel frightened, or fainthearted or disheartened. There are times when others around us are in this situation. We are not called to condemn or criticize the brethren at such a time but to comfort and encourage them. What are some ways to encourage those who are timid and frightened? Point them to our great Commander in Chief. Tell them – fear not! God is with us. We find our Lord Himself encouraging His people in various parts of scripture. To Joshua He said “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” (Joshua 1v9, KJV). To Jeremiah He said, “Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.” (Jeremiah 1v8, KJV). Jesus told His disciples: “Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]” (John 14v27, AMP). A song I like goes thus:
