Unheard prayers
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on
this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Be unceasing in
prayer [praying perseveringly];” 1 Thessalonians 5v17 (AMP)
Now, while we know
that and are confident that our God answers prayers, we also know that there
are certain prayers He won’t answer. In the first place, there are those which
He does not even hear. Isaiah 59v1-2 (NIV) tells us that “Surely the arm of the
LORD is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear. But your
iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden His face
from you, so that He will not hear.” Plainly stated here is that iniquity and
sin make God hide His face from us and not hear us. However, we know too that
if we confess our sin, He will forgive us. I John 1v9 (AMP) saying “If we
[freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and
just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss
our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness
[everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].”
Beloved, have you sinned? We have a great High Priest called Jesus who pleads
for us before the Father (1 John 2v1-2). The blood of Jesus can cleanse you
from your sins, but you need to take the first step and admit it, talk to the
Lord about it… so that your prayers can be answered. You cannot continue in sin
and expect grace to abound.
Supplementary Text
“Come and hear, all of
you who reverence the Lord, and I will tell you what He did for me: For I cried
to Him for help with praises ready on my tongue. He would not have listened if
I had not confessed my sins. But He listened! He heard my prayer! He paid
attention to it!” Psalm 66v16-19 (TLB)
Prayer
Why don’t you go ahead
and talk to the Lord about any sin that you might be in and seek His
forgiveness …
