Be an encouragement
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I
hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Wherefore comfort yourselves
together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.” 1 Thessalonians 5v11
(KJV)
One thing that we as believers need
is comfort and encouragement. The Christian walk is a continual and constant
battle, and sometimes it is easy for our faith to wane. We find Paul and others
who had preached to the church in Thessalonica being concerned about them,
wanting to know how they were holding up in the face of affliction. Beloved, we
are told not to tear one another down, but to comfort and edify one another. Galatians
5v15 (TLB) saying “But if instead of showing love among yourselves you are
always critical and catty, watch out! Beware of ruining each other.” It is a
joyful thing that we all be found in Christ at His coming. That is one reason
it is important to have fellowship. Hebrews 10v24-25 (AMP) “And let us consider
and give attentive, continuous care to watching over one another, studying how
we may stir up (stimulate and incite) to love and helpful deeds and noble
activities, Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as
is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging)
one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching.” Have
you found yourself pulling away from Christian fellowship, from church… please
don’t. Find a body of believers where you will continue to grow. Let us
encourage one another in the faith. As someone said, in the army, there might
be casualties, someone might get hit. We are soldiers of Christ, fighting the
fight of faith – let us take care of our wounded soldiers, let us make sure no
one is left behind, let us watch each other’s backs.
Supplementary Text
“But encourage one another daily,
as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s
deceitfulness.” Hebrews 3v13 (NIV)
Prayer
Father, we thank You for Your Word.
We pray that You will give us the grace to encourage one another, and not to be
critical and judgmental. We pray You will open our eyes to see the needs and
opportunities to exhort one another in Jesus name, amen.
