Preserved blameless

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“… and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).” 1 Thessalonians 5v23 (AMP)

Dearly beloved, we know that our Lord Jesus is coming back. 2 Peter 3v13-14 (AMP) tells us that “But we look for new heavens and a new earth according to His promise, in which righteousness (uprightness, freedom from sin, and right standing with God) is to abide. So, beloved, since you are expecting these things, be eager to be found by Him [at His coming] without spot or blemish and at peace [in serene confidence, free from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts].” As 1 Thessalonians 5v23 shows, each part of us – spirit, soul and body need to be preserved blameless. Our spirit, being the real us, the part which is born again, needs to remain in Christ. Our soul, the seat of our mind, emotions and will, needs to be constantly renewed and in tune with the Lord. And our bodies, which are the temple of the Holy Spirit, need to continue being habitable and used for the glory of His name. We thank God for the work He is doing in us, to give us the will and the ability to please Him. Indeed 1 Corinthians 1v7-8 (NLT) says “Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will keep you strong to the end so that you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns.”

Supplementary Text
“Dearest friends, when I was there with you, you were always so careful to follow my instructions. And now that I am away you must be even more careful to do the good things that result from being saved, obeying God with deep reverence, shrinking back from all that might displease Him. For God is at work within you, helping you want to obey Him, and then helping you do what He wants. In everything you do, stay away from complaining and arguing so that no one can speak a word of blame against you. You are to live clean, innocent lives as children of God in a dark world full of people who are stubborn. Shine out among them like beacon lights, holding out to them the Word of Life. Then when Christ returns, how glad I will be that my work among you was so worthwhile.” Philippians 2v12-16 (TLB)

Prayer

Father we worship You. We pray that our whole spirit, soul and body we preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in Jesus name, amen.
