PUSH
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on
this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Be unceasing in
prayer [praying perseveringly];” 1 Thessalonians 5v17 (AMP)
I remember some years
back when there were these acronyms out there – WWJD: What Would Jesus Do;
FROG: Fully Rely on God; and PUSH – Pray Until Something Happens. I want to
dwell on PUSH today. There are times in our lives when we have to PUSH, without
giving up. This is highlighted in the parable that Jesus told His disciples in
Luke 18 about how we should pray and not faint. We see even exemplified in the
case of Elijah the prophet and our Lord Jesus Christ where they stayed on the
same prayer point until the answer came for the former or some sort of
settlement or peace was attained. 1 Kings 18v41-45 (NIV) says “And Elijah said
to Ahab, “Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain.” So Ahab
went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down
to the ground and put his face between his knees. “Go and look toward the sea,”
he told his servant. And he went up and looked. “There is nothing there,” he
said. Seven times Elijah said, “Go back.” The seventh time the servant
reported, “A cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.” So Elijah
said, “Go and tell Ahab, ‘Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain
stops you.’” Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy
rain started falling and Ahab rode off to Jezreel.” Child of God, perhaps you
have a sure promise, you hear the sound of the abundance of rain concerning
yourself, your family, ministry, nation, don’t stop pushing through in prayer
for the manifestation to come forth. We see Daniel being told in Daniel
10v12-14 (KJV) being told that “… Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that
thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy
God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the
kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of
the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of
Persia. Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in
the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.” Be encouraged to know
that the seeds that we sow in prayer to the Lord are not in vain. However
sometimes we need to persevere in the place of prayer for the answer to manifest
in the physical.
Supplementary Text
“A man shall eat good
by the fruit of his mouth: by the soul of the transgressors shall eat
violence.” Proverbs 13v2 (KJV)
Prayer
Father, I thank You
for Your Word. I pray for the grace to persevere in the place of prayer in
Jesus name, amen.
