Thank You Lord, thank You Lord, thank You Lord

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].” 1 Thessalonians 5v18 (AMP)

I wonder how many times over the years you have had cause to say these words - thank You Lord, thank You Lord, thank You Lord. Maybe not exactly like this, but had a situation where you just were so very grateful to God. The children of Israel had many such situations where God showed up for them in a mighty and an awesome way – delivering them in Egypt, taking them out of that country, parting the Red Sea for them, providing for them in the wilderness, taking them to the promised land, driving out their enemies from the front of them and so on. If we look over our lives, we can say that even before we knew who God was, He knew us and loved us, sending His Son Jesus to die for us, calling us and saving us, clothing, sheltering and feeding us, giving us the desires of our hearts, answering our prayers and so on. But we also know that the children of Israel would often tempt God, forget His works, not believe in Him, and all. Perhaps, we too are sometimes quick to forget the “thank You” Lord situations, and all that He is doing for us. Yes, He did it in time past, but right now, this particular one, you are not so sure of. He remains God, good and dependable!

Supplementary Text
“He did miracles in the sight of their ancestors in the land of Egypt, in the region of Zoan. He divided the sea and led them through; He made the water stand up like a wall. He guided them with the cloud by day and with light from the fire all night. He split the rocks in the wilderness and gave them water as abundant as the seas; He brought streams out of a rocky crag and made water flow down like rivers. But they continued to sin against Him, rebelling in the wilderness against the Most High. They wilfully put God to the test by demanding the food they craved. They spoke against God; they said, “Can God really spread a table in the wilderness? True, He struck the rock, and water gushed out, streams flowed abundantly, but can He also give us bread? Can He supply meat for His people?” When the LORD heard them, He was furious; His fire broke out against Jacob, and His wrath rose against Israel, for they did not believe in God or trust in His deliverance.” Psalm 78v12-22 (NIV)

Prayer
