Pray and Believe
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on
this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Be unceasing in
prayer [praying perseveringly];” 1 Thessalonians 5v17 (AMP)
Beloved, we are
encouraged to pray without ceasing, to keep on praying – pray perseveringly and
not give up. However, when we pray, we also need to believe! In Mark 11, we see
how Jesus spoke to the fig tree telling it that no man would eat of its fruit.
The next morning, they found the fig tree dried up and Peter recalled what the
Lord had said concerning it. In a way, it might have been a thing of surprise
like Lord, what You said came to pass. I am reminded as well of when the church
was praying for Peter after he had been imprisoned, and the Almighty God sent
an angel to rescue him. When he came to find the believers, they were
astonished to see him, initially thinking it was his angel (Acts 12v15-16).
Beloved, do you actually pray believing and expectantly? Not that we trivialize
the wonders of God, but our appreciation should reach a point of Lord I knew
You would do it, but how You did it is just amazing, You are indeed a
wonder-working God, I was so confident that You would do it, and once again You
have proved Yourself faithful. Indeed after Peter pointed out the withered tree
to the Lord, the Lord’s response was: “… Have faith in God. For verily I say
unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be
thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe
that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever
he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray,
believe that ye receive them and ye shall receive them.” (Mark 11v22-26, KJV). When
you pray, believe that you have received what you prayed for and you shall have
them – hallelujah!
Supplementary Text
“And on the morrow,
when they were come from Bethany, He was hungry: And seeing a fig tree afar off
having leaves, He came, if haply He might find any thing thereon: and when He
came to it, He found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. And
Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever.
And His disciples heard it… And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the
fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto
Him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.“ Mark
11v12-14&20-21 (KJV)
