Thank You for Your Word Lord

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss. I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.” 1 Thessalonians 5v26-28 (KJV)

In these last verses, Paul, Silvanus and Timotheus conclude this letter to the church in Thessalonica. Together with other epistles, the gospels, other books in the new and old testament, we today have the Bible. How wonderful that we have such access to the Word of God. The fact that we can access it in our various homes, on our phones and other electronic devices, that we are able to purchase it over the internet, is a blessing indeed and we thank God for it. The Word of God is powerful, and through reading and obeying it, we can have good success (Joshua 1v8; Psalm 1v3). Hebrews 4v12-13 (AMP) says “For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart. And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, naked and defenseless to the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do.” One thing we should also remember from 1 Peter 1v20-21 (NLT) is that “Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding, or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.” Therefore when we read the Word of God, we can look at it as God speaking to us; Jesus being the Word of God (John 1v1).

Supplementary Text
Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action), So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3v16-17 (AMP)

Prayer
Father, we thank You for the Word of God. We pray that we would not treat it lightly and that You will open our eyes to behold great and mighty things from it in Jesus name, amen.
