Rejoice evermore
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Rejoice
evermore.” 1 Thessalonians 5v16 (KJV)
“Be
happy [in your faith] and rejoice and be glad-hearted continually (always);” 1
Thessalonians 5v16 (AMP)
Beloved,
rejoice evermore, rejoice in your faith. What a wonderful and encouraging verse
of scripture to always remember. Are you down today? Is your situation looking
bleak? Rejoice evermore! We are encouraged not just to rejoice today or
tomorrow, or when things seem to be going well, but to rejoice evermore. What
are some reasons we have to rejoice? Well, we know that all will be well. We
have a hope, a future, we are saved, and we do not only have hope for this
life, but that which is to come. We know that “to live is Christ and to die is
gain.” We know that God has plan for our lives and that plan is a good one, one
with good thoughts to give us a future, a hope and an expected end (Jeremiah
29v11). Romans 12v12 (TLB) says “Rejoice in all that God is planning for you…” We
know that the God we serve is a faithful and true God. He is dependable. He is
also all-powerful and through Him we can win every battle we find ourselves in.
We can rejoice because the Spirit of the living God who is our Comforter,
Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Strengthener, Intercessor and Standby dwells with
us, is with us constantly and in us (John 14v16-17). Oh we can rejoice because
we know that if God be for us, who can be against us (Romans 8v31). We can
rejoice because we know that though our beginnings be small, our latter end
should greatly increase (Job 8v7). We can rejoice in the fact that God sees us,
hears us, and answers prayers. Oh, what a faithful God we have. But we see that
we have every cause to rejoice, not because of momentary things which make us
happy, but because of the God we serve. He is the source of our joy. He is the
One who enables us to be positive and hopeful in the midst of the bleakest
situation. Even if weeping may endure for a night, we know that joy comes in
the morning (Psalm 30v5). Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness
and for His wonderful works to the children of men (Psalm 107v8, 15 & 21).
