Psalm 77:Favour in that way

Hello everyone.

How are you doing on this lovely Wednesday? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. It is wonderful to have the favour of the Lord. I can imagine Job, who knew God’s favour and hand, he must have felt like he was in the 7th heaven with all the blessings that were coming his way. Everything seemed to be going well. Or Joseph, after getting a coat of many colours, and having dreams that he will be great. Or the disciples after receiving the Holy Spirit. But in each of these cases, we see that at some point, Job’s world, Joseph’s world, and even that of the disciples seemed to be crashing, so much so that they might have had cause to ask of the Lord:

“… Will He never show His favor again?” Psalm 77v7 (NIV)
“…Will He never again be kind to me?” Psalm 77v7(NLT)
“…and will He be favourable no more?” Psalm 77v7 (KJV)
“…Will He never smile again?” Psalm 77v7 (AMP)

As believers, there are times when everything seems to be going so wonderful. A new job, or a promotion or a raise, a marriage, a child, greater level of anointing … And then it seems like things are changing, and in a way that does not seem to favour us. But as we see in each of these stories, even when things went bad, God was in control, He still cared, He hadn’t changed, and when that period was over, they were at even an even greater level of promotion, grace, possessions … Take the example of Joseph for instance, God had sent him ahead to help to save his family. Yes, he went through a tough time in doing it, but he stayed in God’s plan. Sometimes we do not know why God puts us through certain things, but we can trust in His love for us. Joseph was in Egypt so that in the future when famine came upon the earth, Israel will be catered for. In that way, The Almighty God showed his favour to His people.

Have a very blessed day.
