Psalm 77: A Moment’s Anger

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Have you ever done something that you thought to be so bad that you felt, surely my parents, or teacher, or boss or friend, or …. is angry with me, and for that reason you begin to walk as if on egg shells all around the place. You become very conscious, and interprete everything in the sense of, ah, because they are angry with me, that is why they spoke this way, or looked at me this way and all of that. Have you ever felt that way about God, that God is so angry with me that He will not love me, or be kind to me anymore. David considered that thought at a time as well, saying:

“…hath He in anger shut up His tender mercies?” Selah.

And sometimes we may genuinely feel that way. And yes the Lord does get angry, as we see time and again with the children of Israel, where His anger was kindled towards them; when they provoked Him to anger with their complaints, their unbelief, rebellion … But they did not cease to be His people, and when they repented and came back to Him, He took them back in. (Remember the Prodigal Son). Two things that the Bible tells us about the anger of the Lord is that:
1. He is slow to anger (Psalm 103v8)
2. His anger lasts only a moment (Psalm 30v5)

“For His anger endureth but a moment; in His favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Psalm 30v5 (KJV)

“For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.” Psalm 30v5 (NLT)

“For His anger is but for a moment, but His favor is for a lifetime or in His favor is life. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Psalm 30v5 (AMP)

“His anger lasts only a moment, but His kindness lasts for a lifetime. Crying may last for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Psalm 30v5 (NCV)

“For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” Psalm 30v5 (NIV)

Hallelujah.

Have a very blessed day. DO you feel God is angry with you? Remember He is slow to anger, and His anger lasts a moment. Go to your Father, spend time with Him, He loves to hear from His children, give Him the opportunity to show you His way of doing things, and may you continue to grow in grace and in the favour of God. Don’t let the devil keep you from Your Father… He loves you, He knows you, nothing can be hid from Him… so if He already knows, you might as well come to Him and let Him help you make things right. Remain blessed.
