Helping One Another

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Someone told me the other day that she and someone else were praying for me on a particular day, and that was good to hear. I listened to a message last week and one part that struck me from the Bible passage was Paul saying that the prayers (of others) helped.

Primary Text:
“We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril and He will deliver us. On Him we have set our hope that He will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.” 2 Corinthians 1v8-11

We all go through trials and difficulties, and tough patches sometimes, and one way we can help each other out, is by praying. Prayers are very important, and we should not in any wise disregard their use. Remember when Peter was in prison, and the Church was praying without ceasing for him (Acts 12v1-17). God is our help. And we can pray for others so that He who is omnipresent, omnipotent and omnipresent can send them the help they need. We can even pray for those we do not know about like believers all around the world, those in authority, people facing particular challenges e.t.c.

Supplementary Texts
“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” Luke 22v31-32 (NIV)

“Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].” James 5v16 (AMP)

“Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in the will of God.” Colossians 4v12

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;” 1 Timothy 2v1-3

Prayer
Father, thank You for the power of prayer that You have given to the Church in Jesus name, amen.
