Can you spot the mistake?

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God because He is very faithful. He is our refuge and strength and a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46v1). He is worthy of all praise and honour.

Primary Text: 2 Chronicles 15v17-19 & 16v1-6
“Although he did not remove the high places from Israel, Asa’s heart was fully committed to the LORD all his life. He brought into the temple of God the silver and gold and the articles that he and his father had dedicated. There was no war until the thirty-fifth year of Asa’s reign.

In the thirty-sixth year of Asa’s reign Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah and fortified Ramah to prevent anyone from leaving or entering the territory of Asa king of Judah. Asa then took the silver and gold out of the treasuries of the LORD’s temple and of his own palace and sent it to Ben-Hadad king of Aram, who was ruling in Damascus. “Let there be a treaty between me and you,” he said, “as there was between my father and your father. See, I am sending you silver and gold. Now break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel so he will withdraw from me.” Ben-Hadad agreed with King Asa and sent the commanders of his forces against the towns of Israel. They conquered Ijon, Dan, Abel Maim and all the store cities of Naphtali. When Baasha heard this, he stopped building Ramah and abandoned his work. Then King Asa brought all the men of Judah, and they carried away from Ramah the stones and timber Baasha had been using. With them he built up Geba and Mizpah.” 2 Chronicles 15v17-19, 16v1-6 (KJV)

Oops. Does anyone spot a mistake here? Did king Asa act wisely? Was it a wise decision to go to Ben-Hadad king of Aram? I mean, Ben-Handad handled the matter, but was that the way Asa was supposed to go about it, as someone who is commited to the Lord? Who did he give his silver and gold to? Where did he get the silver and gold from? Dearly beloved, who are you sending your gold and your silver to? Have you been taking the seemingly “easy” way out? Have you been doing things the way your father did it? Who is your help? Is it the Uncle down the street, the godfather in Brazil, the bully who everyone has to listen to, the person who holds that political office? Do you spot a mistake in your life? In whom are you placing your confidence?
