A Godly Inheritance!

Primary Text: Colossians 1v12
“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:” Colossians 1v12 (KJV)
Glory be to God. The Bible tells us that “A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: …” (Proverbs 13v22). Now, God being very good, who has adopted us to be His own children, does not treat us like 2nd class citizens. The amazing thing is that now that we are His, being born again to an ever-living hope because of Jesus’ resurrection, He has made us His heirs, and even more astonishing, joint-heirs with Jesus. This inheritance is not one that can perish or stolen or faded away, but it is being reserved for us in heaven.

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom He hath chosen for His own inheritance.” Psalm 33v12
“He chose our inheritance for us, the glory and pride of Jacob, whom He loves. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!” Psalm 47v4
“Praised (honored, blessed) be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)! By His boundless mercy we have been born again to an ever-living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, [Born anew] into an inheritance which is beyond the reach of change and decay [imperishable], unsullied and unfading, reserved in heaven for you, Who are being guarded (garrisoned) by God’s power through [your] faith [till you fully inherit that final] salvation that is ready to be revealed [for you] in the last time.” 1 Peter 1v3-5 (AMP)
“And for this cause He is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.” Hebrews 9v15
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3v23-24
“For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.” Ephesians 5v5

Father in heaven, we thank You so much for this day which You have made. We thank You so much for Your goodness and for calling us to be Your own. We thank You for making us Your heirs, and joint heirs with Jesus.
