Patience and Endurance!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His patience.

Primary Text: Colossians 1v11
“Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;” Colossians 1v11 (KJV)

“[We pray] that you may be invigorated and strengthened with all power according to the might of His glory, [to exercise] every kind of endurance and patience (perseverance and forbearance) with joy,” Colossians 1v11 (AMP)

We need patience for a lot of things as Christians. We need patience in order to obtain God’s promises e.g. of Jesus’ coming, of particular things we are looking up to Him for, …. We need patience when we are going through trials, so that we may be perfect and entire wanting nothing. We need patience in relating with others, for love is patient. And patience, is a fruit of the Spirit. We need patience and endurance in waiting on the Lord, and also in carrying out tasks where the end results may seem slow. Indeed, we need His patience and endurance.

Supplementary Text:
“But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.” 1 Peter 5v10

“So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that He has promised. “For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay. And My righteous ones will live by faith. But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.” But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved.” Hebrews 10v34-39 (NLT)

“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” James 1v2-4 (NLT)

“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” Galatians 5v22-23 (NLT)

Prayer
Father, we thank You for Your Word this day. We pray that You will strengthen us with all power according to Your glorious might that we might exercise every kind of endurance and patience with joy, in Jesus name, amen.
