Redemption!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. There is this song which is sang by Israel titled “Say so” and part of it goes thus:

Verse 1: What does it mean to be saved? Isn’t it more than just a prayer to pray? More than just a way to heaven? What does it mean to be His? To be formed in His likeness? Know that we have a purpose.
Vamp: To be salt and light in the world, in the world. To be salt and light in the world.
Chorus: Let the redeemed of the Lord say so! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, say so!
Verse 2: Oh that the church would arise. So that we would see with Jesus’ eyes. We could show the world heaven. Show what it means to be His. To be formed in His likeness. Show them they have a purpose….”

The Bible tells us in Colossians 1v14 that:

Primary Text: Colossians 1v14
“In whom we have redemption through His blood,” Colossians 1v14 (KJV)

“The Son pain for our sins,” Colossians 1v14 (NCV)

For everyone who has received Christ as their Lord and personal Saviour, you have been redeemed. It wasn’t an easy price that was paid, it was an expensive redemption, but it was done nevertheless, because God loved us so much. This song is addressing the purpose of redemption. Being redeemed, we are to be the salt and light of the world. We are to let our lights shine before men that they will see our good deeds and glorify our Father which is in heaven (Matthew 5v16).

Supplementary Text:
“Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;” Psalm 107v2

“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:” Galatians 3v13

“For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom He paid was not mere gold or silver. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. God chose Him as your ransom long before the world began, but He has now revealed Him to you in these last days. Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And you have placed your faith and hope in God because He raised Christ from the dead and gave Him great glory.” 1 Peter 1v18-21 (NLT)

Prayer
Thank You Father, in Jesus name, amen.

And perhaps you do not even know Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour, and you want to have a relationship with Him. The Bible says:

“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Romans 10v9-10

You can say this prayer: Heavenly Father, I come to You today, confessing that I am a sinner. I am sorry for all that I have done and ask that You forgive me for all of my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Lord Jesus, I ask that You be Lord and Saviour over my life. I believe that You came to die for my sins, and that God raised You from the dead. Thank You Father for translating me out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Your dear Son. Thank You for sealing me with Your Holy Spirit of promise. Please keep me till the end in You, and may Your Name alone be glorified in my life, in Jesus name I pray, amen.

If you said this prayer today, know that you are now a child of God and that there is much jubilation in heaven because of you. Begin to attend a Bible-believing church, and keep the faith! Welcome into God’s family.
