The Will of God

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His will.

Primary Text: Colossians 1v9
“For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.” Colossians 1v9 (NIV)

God has a will, and it is a wonderful will. We see in this text, Paul praying that the church in Colosse will be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. We can know His will as we allow our mindsets to be changed by Him, even through His Word, and through His Spirit. For example “God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure.” (Ephesians 1v5, NLT). This is God’s will. Isn’t that wonderful. We see Jesus even praying for God’s will to supersede His. Are we willing to pray that and see that happen in our lives?

Supplementary Text:
“Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].” Romans 12v2 (AMP)

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5v8

“And going a little farther, He threw Himself upon the ground on His face and prayed saying, My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will [not what I desire], but as You will and desire.” Matthew 26v39 (AMP)

“PAUL, AN apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: … Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, …. Having made known unto us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He hath purposed in Himself: … In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of Him who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will:” Ephesians 1v1, 5, 9, 11 (KJV)

Prayer
Father, I thank You for Your Word. I pray that we might be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding in Jesus name, amen. Father, please transform and change our way of thinking, that we may be able to prove what is Your good and perfect and acceptable will for us in Jesus name, amen. Father, let Your will, not mine, be done in my life in Jesus name, amen.
