The Knowledge of God

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Do you know God? Do you know the things that He likes and dislikes? Or are you looking more to your wisdom, or your might, or your riches?

Primary Text: Jeremiah 17v23-24
“Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches. But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth Me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.” Jeremiah 17v23-24

God is saying that those who want to glory, glory in the fact that you understand and know me. To understand means: “to be thoroughly familiar with; apprehend clearly the character, nature, or subtleties of… to grasp the significance, implications, or importance of… to accept as true; believe… to have knowledge or background, as on a particular subject.” To know means to “perceive or understand as fact or truth; to apprehend clearly and with certainty,… to have established or fixed in the mind or memory… to be cognizant or aware of… to understand from experience or attainment,…” (www.dictionary.com)

Supplementary Text:
“Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.” Hosea 4v1

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to Me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” Hosea 4v6

“For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.” Hosea 6v6

“But even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;” Romans 1v28

“Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.” 1 Corinthians 15v34

Don’t be as those who lack knowledge of God. He is speaking even now in these days. Let us not be as those who lack the knowledge of God, and refuse to understand or know Him.

Prayer
Father, I thank You for Your Word. I thank You because we can get to understand and know You. O God, please grant unto me the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. Let me increase in the knowledge of God, this I pray in Jesus name, amen.
