Come Boldly
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in
the Lord.
Primary Text
“For we do not have a High Priest Who is
unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling
with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults
of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet
without sinning. Let us then fearlessly and confidently and
boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favor to
us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to
help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming
just when we need it].” Hebrews 4v15-16 (AMP)
God loves us very much. That’s why He sent Jesus to die for
us (John 3v16). Jesus our High Priest is compassionate and was tempted even as
we are. The Bible tells us to come boldly to God’s throne of grace, not to
shrink away in fear. Most times, we find ourselves running away from the very
One who can give us the grace and mercy we need in time of trouble, because of
guilt, fear and condemnation. However, 1 John 4v18 (AMP) says “There is no fear
in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns
fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the
thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full
maturity of love [is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection].” When fear
comes, it brings with it torment. The Amplified Bible says it brings with it
the thought of punishment. God doesn’t want us to be fearful. In the Bible He
keeps saying fear not! Instead He wants us to have faith – to believe that He
is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11v6).
Don’t be afraid. God loves you. He will help you. He won’t forsake you. Your
righteousness is of Him.
Prayer
Father, I thank You for Your Word
this day. I thank You Father, for You have not given me a spirit of bondage
again to fear, but a Spirit of adoption whereby I cry, Abba Father. Father
perfect me in love o God. Thank You for the privilege of being called Yours in
Jesus name, amen.
