His Purpose

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text

“And in the morning, long before daylight, He got up and went out to a deserted place, and there He prayed. And Simon [Peter] and those who were with him followed Him [pursuing Him eagerly and hunting Him out]. And they found Him and said to Him, Everybody is looking for You. And He said to them, Let us be going on into the neighboring country towns, that I may preach there also: for that is why I came out.” Mark 1v35-38 (AMP)

As believers, it is important to know God’s purpose for our lives. Ephesians 2v10 (AMP) “For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do the good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” Our Lord Jesus had God’s purpose uppermost on His mind, regardless of what other people would pressure Him to do. In the text above, His disciples had come to meet Jesus to tell Him that all men were seeking Him, but He knew that He had to move on; despite how flattering it might have seemed to feel needed.

Prayer

Father, we thank You because You are the Potter and we are clay in Your hands. We are Your masterpiece. Father, there are things which You before ordained for us to do, paths which You predestined for us to take, works that You would have us do. We pray this day that regardless of what people say or think that we would do those good works which You before ordained for us to do, and take those paths which You prepared ahead of time for us to walk in them; that we would indeed live the good life which You prearranged and made ready for us to live to the glory and honour of Your name, in Jesus name, amen.
