Walking in the Fear of the Lord (2)
Hello everyone,
How are you doing
on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“The fear of the
LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.” Proverbs
10v27 (KJV)
In this text, we
see a distinction made between the fear of the Lord and the wicked. The wicked
are those who will not be mindful of God or seek after Him (Psalm 10v4). You
can therefore imagine that they become a law unto themselves, doing things as
they please. But if you desire long life, then you are encouraged that fearing
God will give you that. Oh, there will be challenges along the way, like Joseph
and Daniel for example, but they lived good years fulfilling destiny. Psalm
34v7-11 (AMP) says “The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him
[who revere and worship Him with awe] and each of them He delivers. O taste and
see that the Lord [our God] is good! Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied)
is the man who trusts and take refuge in Him. O fear the Lord, you His saints
[revere and worship Him]! For there is no want to those who truly revere and
worship Him with godly fear. The young lions lack food and suffer hunger, but
they who seek (inquire of and require) the Lord [by right of their need and on
their authority of His Word], none of them shall lack any beneficial thing.
Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you to revere and worshipfully
fear the Lord.”
Prayer
Father, I thank
You for Your Word. Teach me O Lord, and my generations after me, to revere You
and worshipfully fear You in Jesus name, amen.
