The right to be trusted
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“O Israel,
says the Lord, why did your fathers desert me? What sin did they find in Me
that turned them away and changed them into fools who worship idols?” Jeremiah
2v4-5 (TLB)
Beloved, God has earned the right to be obeyed and
trusted. Or has He done anything that should cause us to move away from
following after Him? Has He done anything that has caused you to be offended in
Him? The Bible tells us of some of the things Jesus told the disciples about
how they would be persecuted, and He said “I have told you all these things, so
that you should not be offended (taken unawares and falter, or be caused to
stumble and fall away). [I told you to keep you from being scandalized and
repelled.]” (John 16v1, AMP). Beloved, what is it that you are going through
that is causing offense against the Lord? What does God have to say about it? Are
you like John the Baptist beginning to question if God really is God? Like Job,
stand strong. The Lord is good, and His works are being done. As He cautioned
John the Baptist, blessed are those who are not offended in Him: “Now
when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his
disciples, And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for
another? Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things
which ye do hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the
lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor
have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be
offended in me.” Matthew 11v2-6 (KJV)
Prayer
Father, we thank You for Your Word. We thank You for
You are faithful and true and have won the right to be trusted. Father, please
keep us in our hours of weakness, let Your grace be sufficient for us, let Your
presence always be with us, let the power of Christ pitch a tent over us and
help us never to be offended at You in Jesus name, amen.
