Gifts (8)
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God because of the gift of “good things.” Our God is a good God, and He does good things, and gives good gifts.
Primary Text: Ephesians 4v8
“Wherefore He saith, When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.” Ephesians 4v8
The Bible tells us that every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning (James 1v17). Isn’t that wonderful. God gives not only good gifts, but also perfect gifts. You know people may try to guess the “perfect” gift for us, but God who knows us truly, gives the “perfect” gift. Matthew 7v11, speaks of how if we being evil, know how to give good gifts to our children, how much more will our Father which is in heaven give good things (Luke 11v13, says the Holy Spirit) to those who ask Him? However, sometimes we do not get things, because we do not ask (James 4v2) and sometimes when we ask, we ask amiss (James 4v3). Our God is dependable, and “… no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.” (Psalm 84v11).
Supplementary Text
“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask Him?” Matthew 7v11
“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11v22-24
“God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?” Numbers 23v19
“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask Him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.” James 1v5-7 (NLT)
Prayer
Father in heaven, we thank You very much for Your mercy and Your grace. We thank You for every good gift and every perfect gift that You have given to us in Jesus name, amen.
