His grace
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We bless God for His grace upon our lives.
Primary Text: Ephesians 4v7
“But unto everyone of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.” Ephesians 4v7
“But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.” Ephesians 4v7 (NIV)
“Yet grace (God’s unmerited favor) was given to each of us individually [not indiscriminately, but in different ways] in proportion to the measure of Christ’s [rich and bounteous] gift.” Ephesians 4v7 (AMP).
As believers, we are each given a measure of grace, which would enable us to carry out certain functions and abilities. Now this grace is not given out indiscriminately, that is to say randomly, or by chance, or haphazardly, but as Christ apportions it. Remember, we are a body, and every part is necessary. “If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased Him.” (1 Corinthians 12v17-18). Even as we serve our Lord in different ways, let us be careful not to become puffed up or think of ourselves more highly than we ought (Romans 12v3), for it is by the grace of God that we are who we are.
Supplementary Texts
“Now there are distinctive varieties and distributions of endowments (gifts, extraordinary powers distinguishing certain Christians, due to the power of divine grace operating in their souls by the Holy Spirit) and they vary, but the [Holy] Spirit remains the same. And there are distinctive varieties of service and ministration, but it is the same Lord [Who is served].” 1 Corinthians 12v4-5 (AMP)
“But by the grace (the unmerited favor and blessing) of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not [found to be] for nothing (fruitless and without effect). In fact, I worked harder than all of them [the apostles], though it was not really I, but the grace (the unmerited favor and blessing) of God which was with me.” 1 Corinthians 15v10 (AMP)
“For who separates you from the others [as a faction leader]? [Who makes you superior and sets you apart from another, giving you the preeminence?] What have you that was not given to you? If then you received it [from someone], why do you boast as if you had not received [but had gained it by your own efforts]?” 1 Corinthians 4v7 (AMP)
Prayer
Father, I thank You for calling me to be Yours, and I pray that Your grace upon my life will not be in vain, and that Your name alone will be glorified through me in Jesus name, amen.
