Gifts (5)
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. One of the best gifts that God has given to us, is grace; grace which means unmerited favour.
Primary Text: Ephesians 4v8
“Wherefore He saith, When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.” Ephesians 4v8
It is by the grace of God that we are who we are (1 Corinthians 15v10). It is by grace that we are saved through faith, and that not of ourselves, it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2v8). It is grace that Noah found in the sight of God, so much so that when God was destroying the earth, He preserved Noah and his family (Genesis 6v7&8). God gives grace to the humble, while He resists the proud (1 Peter 5v5).
Supplementary Text
“Of this [Gospel] I was made a minister according to the gift of God”s free grace (undeserved favor) which was bestowed on me by the exercise (the working in all its effectiveness) of His power.” Ephesians 3v7 (AMP)
“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,” 2 Timothy 1v9 (KJV)
“Now therefore, I pray You, if I have found favor in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You [progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with You, perceiving and recognizing and understanding more strongly and clearly] and that I may find favor in Your sight. And [Lord, do] consider that this nation is Your people.” Exodus 33v13 (AMP)
“This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for He faced all of the same testings we do, yet He did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” Hebrews 4v15-16 (NLT)
“And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].” 2 Corinthians 9v8 (AMP)
“Yet grace (God’s unmerited favor) was given to each of us individually [not indiscriminately, but in different ways] in proportion to the measure of Christ’s [rich and bounteous] gift.” Ephesians 4v7 (AMP)
Prayer
Father in heaven, we thank You very much for the grace which You have given us. We thank You for Your grace by which we are saved, and You make us who we are. Thank You Father for Your grace is sufficient for us in Jesus name, amen.
