With All Lowliness

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Even as we have been called to be Christians, it is encouraged that we walk with all lowliness. Jesus who said “Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” (Matthew 11v29), is a good example of someone who was lowly in heart.

Primary Text – Ephesians 4v1&2
“I THEREFORE, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love” Ephesians 4v1&2 (KJV)

Yes, we have been made to be kings and priests unto our God, yet we are to walk with all lowliness. The Bible says “Surely He scorneth the scorners: but He giveth grace unto the lowly.” (Proverbs 3v34). It is a wonderful thing to be a beneficiary of God’s grace. Our Lord Jesus Himself was in the likeness of God, yet He made Himself of no reputation, He took on the form of a servant, and He humbled Himself unto death, even death on the cross.

Supplementary Texts
“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem the other better than themselves.” Philippians 2v3

“Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:] Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained, But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being. And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross! Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, That in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, And every tongue [frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2v5-11 (AMP)

The mind is the seat of our intellect, reasoning, understanding … The Bible does tell us that we have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2v16), and Philippians 2v5 asks us to have this same mind that was also in Christ.

Prayer
Father, I thank You so much for this day which You have made. I give You glory and I honour You. Father in the name of Jesus, I ask for a teachable spirit, that I may indeed learn of Christ, who was meek and lowly in heart. Help me to be meek and lowly in my heart and in my mind in Jesus name, amen.
