Gifts (7)

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for another wonderful day that He has made, that we can rejoice and be glad in. Blessed be His holy name forevermore, amen.

Primary Text: Ephesians 4v8
“Wherefore He saith, When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.” Ephesians 4v8

One of the gifts that Jesus gave to us, is the gift of Ministers. He gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors, and some teachers. And these gifts, as with all what God does, was for a purpose, even as we see in Ephesians 4v12-16. These appointments are made by God Himself, and not by any man. No one can make himself these things, except God calls him to it. They are important gifts to the body, which help to bring about maturity to the body of Christ and to build the Church.

Supplementary Text
“And His gifts were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us] some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the Gospel, travelling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers.” Ephesians 4v11 (AMP)

“So God has appointed some in the church [for His own use]: first apostles (special messengers); second prophets (inspired preachers and expounders); third teachers; then wonder-workers; then those with ability to heal the sick; helpers; administrators; [speakers in] different (unknown) tongues.” 1 Corinthians 12v28 (AMP)

“Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do His work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of His body, the church. He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.” Ephesians 4v12-16 (New Living Translation).

Prayer
Father in heaven, we thank You very much for Your mercy and Your grace. We thank You for Your thoughts towards us are thoughts of peace and not of evil to give us a future, a hope and an expected end. We thank You for the ministry gifts which You have appointed in the Church for its edification. We pray that Your name will continually be glorified in the body now and evermore in Jesus name, amen.
